My CBD Picks
CBD is one of those topics that is very polarizing. People have strong opinions on how to use it and what it does to the body. More than that it is something that is incredibly personal; a CBD brand/form/or dose that I use may not be as tolerable nor effective for you as it is for me.
That being said I am not an expert in CBD and this is just a round up of products that have worked for me over the years. I do encourage you to do your own research from reputable medical entities as to what CBD is, how it works in the body, how it differs from marijuana, and what benefits it has. Please consult your doctor/medical professional before you take CBD.
Now lets get into my favorite products!
Oil: Oil based CBD products are a great choice for anyone who hates swallowing pills. It is also great because it is fast acting due to the delivery method. The oil usually comes with a dropper and a dose put under the tongue and held there is absorbed by tiny little capillaries absorbing it quickly, similar to a sublingual medication.
Charlottes Web is my favorite oil based product. The quality is superior to any other company I have encountered, especially when it comes to individuals suffering from chronic pain/illness. This company is family owned and run and you can really tell the passion they put into their products. I use the 60mg dose, which is their highest, but I suffer from severe pain. I suggest reading reviews or talking with a representative to find a dose that is suitable for you. The taste isn't fabulous but can be easily chased down with a flavored drink.
Gummy - Gummies are a relatively new form of CBD and very popular on social media. The problem with this is you have to really examine the ingredients to ensure you are getting a quality CBD product. I like two different gummy CBD products, one for pain and one for sleep.
FAB: I use these CBD gummies for pain, they helped significantly after surgery when I didn't want to take pain pills or was having pain while sleeping. 1 gummy contains 25mg of CBD so they are pretty strong compared to other options on the market. Plus they come in delicious fruit flavors which are easy to take. They are great if you need to take something on the go or feel you need to be discreet about your consumption.

Charlottes Web: I am absolutely obsessed with these gummies. First off they taste great, second they put me to sleep! I have had insomnia problems as long as I have had chronic pain problems and I have tried just about everything you can think of. These work like a charm, way better than any prescription medication, and don't leave you groggy in the morning. They contain 10mg of CBD and 3mg of Melatonin per serving.

Salve - CBD salves are commonly used among athletes or those with muscle and joint issues. It is absorbed through the skin and helps treat the pain right at it's origin. After surgery for my shunt placement I had severe muscle cramping in my neck, this delivery method helped significantly in loosening up those muscles.
FAB- The FAB salve is made with essential oils and other ingredients that are sourced naturally and contains 600mg of CBD per container. Essential oils give it a light citrus smell and it is incredibly easy to apply. Definitely a great choice if you are suffering from muscle and joint aching.

Lotion: CBD lotion is another one of those products that is becoming 'trendy'. I see them at places like Sephora now and at certain boutiques whereas a few years ago it was something you could only get strictly from a health food store or online. It is a great delivery system as it allows you to apply to the source of your pain and usually is pretty potent in term of CBD content. It can also be rather discreet if that is something you are concerned about.
Liberty Lotion: This lotion is a great option that has 50mg of CBD per bottle. It's largely unscented making it great for those with migraines. I used this specifically for my Trigeminal Neuralgia on my face. It also absorbs very quickly which helps it not only work faster but not leave you skin feeling tacky. It is travel friendly as it can fit in your purse and comes in a variety of strengths and sizes if you are looking for something different.
Edibles: I don't have much experience in the edible CBD world. I have tried CBD chocolate and CBD PB bites however I have not tried a wide variety nor significant amount of any product to be able to suggest any that I believe are effective. However, if you have please leave a comment with the product and your experience!
